On the Cusp: A Series of Short Films by Emerging Artists in Israel and the U.S: Part Two
September 9-13, 2020
Discussion: September 13, 2020, EST 1 PM
On the Cusp is an ongoing series of short films from students and recent grads in Israel and the US. Each of these screenings will be followed by an online discussion with the emerging filmmakers and industry pros who will provide their valuable insight.
Part Two in the series are three films from the School of Audio and Visual Arts at Sapir College and one from a recent grad from the Grady College at the University of Georgia. Read more about the films here.
Our special guests for the discussion will be Judy Cairo and Michael Simpson, partners in Cairo Simpson Entertainment and Informant Media, and composer George Clinton. Click here for more information about our special guests.
On the Cusp screenings and discussions will be open to the registered audience.
Who Can Join: Anyone is welcome! On our trips, The backStorygroup visits film and music schools, where we watch and discuss Israeli student films, and our students show some of their work too. Our professional composers and producers give lectures and workshops at these schools, a valuable and inspirational experience for us all. These interactions between American and Israeli creators are a highlight of our trip, and here's your chance to be part of this aspect of the backStorygroup experience in Israel! Because of the the rich cultural background and foundation of the films, they're of particular interest to filmmakers and composers, but the films' natural audience is much broader. We welcome you to share in this event with us from your corner of the world.
How Can I Join: Please click on the RSVP button above to reserve your spot. We will send you a confirmation email with the special password to access the videos, which will only be posted online for the times listed above. When it's time, click the link and enjoy the show!
